Rwanda’s science-driven, coordinated response to Marburg Virus Disease (MVD) demonstrates the power of preparedness, public health education, and strong partnerships. With support from Africa CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), and others, Rwanda contained the outbreak to 66 cases with a case fatality



Today, WHO African Region held a Candidates Forum ahead of the election of the next Regional Director. Four candidates shared their vision and priorities for health in the African Region. The election will be held on 18 May 2025.
