If you're finishing your camera-ready for ACL (#acl2025nlp) or ICML (#icml2025 ) and want to cite co-first authors more fairly, I just made a simple fix to do this! Just add $^*$ to the authors' names in your bibtex, and the citations should change :) github.com/tpimentelms/ac…

Totally agree. While language models can significantly support many aspects of scientific research, I’m not convinced it’s a good idea to fully automate the research process and submit the resulting papers for peer review just to showcase the capabilities of your agents…

Over the past year we received SO many requests for a DeepLearning.AI short course on DSPy. Thanks to a great effort by my colleagues Chen Qian & Cathy Yin from the DSPy team at @Databricks, here's a collaboration with Andrew Ng's team who have been super helpful on this!

LMs often output answers that sound right but aren’t supported by input context. This is intrinsic hallucination: the generation of plausible, but unsupported content. We propose Precise Information Control (PIC): a task requiring LMs to ground only on given verifiable claims.

A bit late to announce, but I’m excited to share that I'll be starting as an assistant professor at the University of Maryland UMD Department of Computer Science this August. I'll be recruiting PhD students this upcoming cycle for fall 2026. (And if you're a UMD grad student, sign up for my fall seminar!)
