Good afternoon, Akins Family!   This past Saturday, our very own Akins Band Student Noah Semsar competed against the top 50 high school trumpet players in the State of Texas! He finished amongst the best of the best as the 6th Best Trumpet Player in the entire state of Texas!!

Congratulations to the 2023-2024 Akins HS Wind Symphony on being named a Commended Winner in the HS New Music Division for the National Foundation for Music Education Mark of Excellence project. This is the first time in the school’s history to receive this award!
