Cells can sense mech cues. Bt can they sense pre-strain if soft tissue is deformed? Hw long can the signal travel? In our latest paper in Cell Reports Phy-Sci, Akshada Khadpekar, PhD shows how rigid structures in soft gels may result into long-range (~40 cell length) patterning. (1/2)
