DO NOT believe any idiot who says India is warming up to China. No we are NOT. China is an enemy. Its actions over the last 7-8 years have been of an enemy's and no amount of gymnastics is going to change that truth.

Obama, uber liberal, w/a liberal uber alles MMS/SG in India - showered CSF $ on Pak, offered G2 carveout to China. This values et al is a v bad dark humour. Tautologically, states work purely on self-interest. India's best outcomes today are via deal-making, not values trade..

I hope we back this talk by acting how countries which are in an actual war act. Which is finance their R&D, military properly. Otherwise, our soundbites will be taken seriously by our adversaries and we will be inadequately equipped for conflict.

When the PM says that form now terrorist attacks will not be considered as proxy war but as actual act of war, it means there will have to conventional response every time. This also means maintaining heightened state of readiness and war reserves and more seriousness in

Radically idiotic👇. Peak China/US GDP passed few yrs ago, and now it is on a secular trend down. Hasnt prevented China frm being a rather large challenge to US. Ergo, India doesnt need to "overtake" China to be a credible threat, juat as Pak is a virulent threat at 8% of India..

The look of astonishment on John Mearsheimer's face as he realises that he really is going to have to explain to Piers Morgan that the United States would not start a nuclear war to defend Ukraine is priceless.

When PM says terror attacks will be considered outright war and not proxy war, it means we have to maintain: 1) high state of alertness: needs military doctrinal changes 2) a huge stockpile of ammo and drones: possible only by having a robust local manufacturing ecosystem

Two q: 1. Is Iran close to building a nuclear weapon? 2. Will a US intervention be a quagmire, or will it be a limited and easy to pull off operation at low risks? Seems like Trump believes answers are Yes, and latter. Bannon etc. are a DK on 1, and quagmire on latter.

Excellent, thought provoking and nuanced POVs by Mearsheimer and Yoram Hazony about the Israel- Iran war, the approach of the US to the same, nuclearisation, regime change etc. youtu.be/J6wfyac4DpA?fe…

Was a masterstroke even in foresight. Would have deindustrialised India. Even now, without being a part of RCEP, there is a risk of Chinese dumping with their overcapacity and the trade wars causing headwinds in US/ west markets; which we should mitigate with tariffs and NTBs

BREAKING: KHALISTANI EXTREMISTS A NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT, SAYS CANADA Canada calls spade a spade. For the first time, uses the terms "extremism" for khalistanis in an intel report.

Speculation- One consequence of the Munir patronage by Trump: Odds of next India- Pakistan crisis happening sooner rather than later is quite high (Pak will attempt another terror attack), AND this time around there won’t be an easy off ramp (as US involvement will be unwelcome)

Pleasantly surprised to read about this census town near Nashik (Population: 25,000 in 2011) that seems to have figured out how to raise its own revenues outside of devolution. I wonder what the incentive to do so was. Source: Indian Express
