🚨Publication Alert🚨Check out #NIHOxCam scholar Alaina Shreves’ new Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention paper that identifies US counties where factors aside from smoking may be driving lung cancer mortality, highlighting the need for further studies into environmental & alt risk factors @NCIEpiTraining

Smoking is generally associated with #lungcancer but Shreves et al identified geographic areas with low smoking prevalence and high lung cancer #mortality. Factors other than smoking, e.g. environmental risks, need to be evaluated in these areas. bit.ly/3YyGs80

A study led by researchers from Oxford Population Health has found that daily physical activity is linked to a lower risk of cancer. The number of steps taken daily may be more important for cancer risk than the intensity of activity. 👣 Read more 👉 buff.ly/HrBQHUp
