This is an excellent article that explains these issues, and the ongoing assault on the FDA, and the perspectives of people like Reshma Ramachandran who have pushed to reform the FDA in their work but who are now fighting to save it from these depredations. nytimes.com/2025/07/08/mag…

As a collector I love first appearances of classic essays and stories. Found this gem just now on eBay!! Can you imagine? You go out to your mailbox. "Ah, wonderful, the latest issue of Horizon. What's this? An Orwell essay? I did enjoy his Animal Farm..."

I was one of the 16 devs in this study. I wanted to speak on my opinions about the causes and mitigation strategies for dev slowdown. I'll say as a "why listen to you?" hook that I experienced a -38% AI-speedup on my assigned issues. I think transparency helps the community.

Dwarkesh Patel The way people use LLMs are probably how people initially used automobiles. Dude, in 1860 - "I'm going to try driving my car from Chicago to California. Maybe it will just work. Would be nice if I don't need to use my horse."
