This historic #AlaskaStorm impacted communities across nearly 1,000 miles. We're working with our interagency partners to ensure effective communication and coordination of federal resources to get help to those who need it.

I thank the President for listening to Sen. Dan Sullivan, Rep. Mary Peltola, Governor Mike Dunleavy, and me, and approving our request for a 100% waiver of the State’s cost share for federal assistance associated with recovery efforts from the Western Alaska disaster.

I am glad to see that the Biden Administration has honored our request to waive 100% of the State’s cost share for additional disaster assistance. Alaska’s Congressional Delegation and I know the waiver will go a long way in helping repair the damage to these communities.

Governor Dunleavy underwent a procedure this afternoon to address recently detected basal cell carcinoma. The Governor is expected to make a full recovery.
