Feels this week we have jumped back 20-30 years in mental health to re-discover why we needed assertive outreach teams & a community treatment order. Nottingham tragedy is a disturbing echo of high profile cases at that time.

It feels that we could all do better, work more connected, in any or all comorbid dual diagnoses. Definitely more to do across the system.

The sad thing is, the depletion of mental health services mean we increase the risk of small number of mentally ill people doing horrendous things. We also fuel the stigmatisation of the vast majority of people with mental illness who are never violent but really do need support.
