The crowd hanging out outside the courthouse in Dedham is pretty fascinating. Do they all have a connection to Karen Read? If not, why are they so invested? Do they think they're influencing the case?

Happy trails to CJ Mosley, who's retiring after 10 NFL seasons. Maybe not a Hall of Famer, but a great player, who was a leader in every defensive huddle he stepped in. Over 1,000 career tackles, five-time second-team All-Pro ... Just a pro in every way.

Brian Hampton's been a really big part of the Niners operation for a really long time, and Tariq Ahmad and RJ Gillen are risers who've come up behind guys like Adam Peters, Ran Carthon, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Ethan Waugh as those guys left. Solid promotions for loyal soldiers.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said today WR Rashee Rice and LT Josh Simmons should be good to go for camp—which is great news. Rice was emerging as a top-end WR before getting hurt last year. Simmons' college career ended on a torn patellar tendon, a really tough injury for a big man.

Just saw the Haliburton replay and wish I hadn’t. Was a few minutes behind and caught up. Awful to have that happen at any time. But especially now. Hard not to remember Kevin Durant’s calf strain leading to a popped Achilles six years ago.

Pacers ruling a Tyrese Haliburton return to the game out this quickly is a pretty good indication that the injury is exactly what everyone thinks it is.

A lot of people I know theorize that it’s how early athletes specialize in single sports. You’re naturally overtraining some muscles, undertraining others, and the wear and tear can lead to major injuries down the line. Achilles would be a natural one for basketball players.

Weird end to the season, but what Sam Presti has done the last 18 years is pretty astounding. And it looks like this might just be the start for this Thunder team.
