Due to storm impacts that were more severe than first expected, Muir Woods NPS and Alcatraz Island will be closed Wednesday, March 22 for visitor and staff safety and to allow for site walkthroughs and cleanup work.

Alcatraz Island will reopen tomorrow for its regular schedule.

Despite last month's stormy weather on Alcatraz Island, four peregrine falcon chicks have just hatched after a month-long incubation period. That's the biggest brood in the island's recorded history! Read: nps.gov/goga/learn/new…
