In my opinion the main problem is that many grant agencies want us to do „risky” projects but with assurance it will work (so with tons of preliminary data) 🤷🏻‍♀️😵‍💫 Or on the flip side they want a safe project but it has to have an IMPACT - big one remember. I agree with 👇

This is rich - one of the primary reasons scientists don't have a lot of time to think is that @nature and its ilk have promoted a culture where the primary goal of science is to produce bloated Nature papers that require lots of time and money, but little thought, to produce.

Please read the entire thread. Although not my field, I know the Murphy lab and I am deeply disturbed by this attempt to discredit their work. One more time for the cheap seats at the back: If you don’t follow the protocol you’re not attempting to replicate a study!! 😤

I would definitely go and do a postdoc in that lab! Highly recommend!
