A new preprint about chromosome organization in bacteria! Wonderful work by Miloš Tišma ! Happy to have contributed!
Happy to share our new preprint! Here we develop and use a single cell optical detection technique to perform Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing on single motile bacteria. This work was done together with cees dekker - also at @ceesdekker.bsky.social lab and Farbod Alijani lab. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
It's great to see our paper online! Here, we used cell-re-shaping to study bacterial chromosome organization. A wonderful collaboration with @RamanvanWee , Daan F van den Berg, @jacobkers , Christos Gogou & cees dekker - also at @ceesdekker.bsky.social
3-year PhD studentship in my group in Newcastle now open for applications! You'll be using advanced fluorescence microscopy to look at how bacterial cells build their cell walls. Come join us in CBCB Newcastle! Please RT 🙏🙏🙏 findaphd.com/phds/project/p…
Looking for talented #Postdoc to join our team Max Planck Institute of Biophysics! Passionate about #SingleMolecule Imaging and #CryoEM? Want to investigate molecular mechanisms governing Genome structure and functions? #Applynow Eugene Kim lab! European Research Council (ERC) 👉recruitingapp-5577.de.umantis.com/Vacancies/288/… RT=highly appreciated!
Please RT, Daniela Daniela Barilla' and I are looking for a postdoc to work on archaea chromosome segregation in Norwich,UK. We are looking for candidates with skills/interest in archaeal genetics/deep sequencing/cell biology. URL: shorturl.at/nrFQ7 Feeel free to email me.
Exciting latest #CDlab paper in Nature Communications: nature.com/articles/s4146… Collaborating with the @Gruber_Lausanne lab, 1st author Miloš Tišma imaged the unconstrained chromosome in widened live bacterial cells - learning lots about how ParB, SMCs, transcription shape chromosomes!
Have you ever wondered if one can synchronize the swimming of single bacteria ? the answer is yes. read our preprint with cees dekker - also at @ceesdekker.bsky.social lab and Farbod alijani lab here
I'm delighted to share that I played a tiny part in a monumental work by Luca Tubiana @[email protected] and all the other 57 authors ! If you are interested in Topology in soft and biological matter see full review article at: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
