One NHS chief said: “We have been asked to ‘think the unthinkable’ in order to break even. That will be impossible without closing beds and significantly reducing staffing numbers. It feels as if the national and regional leadership teams are spinning out of control."

My 2015 report to GMC recommended expansion of dedicated mental health care for doctors. Since then, staff - not just doctors - have faced Covid & increasing demand. The NHS, in treating patients, needs healthy practitioners.

In 2014 life dealt me an out of the blue, terrifying, life-changing experience. It shattered me into pieces. My reaction to it was grossly misunderstood by my peers, and by colleagues I had previously trusted too. I lost my health, via major surgery, and then my job 1/11

This week across South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Acute Federation we have been collaboratively developing a Strategic Plan for Developmentally Appropriate Healthcare for Young People. Tailoring care in an age appropriate way and recognising individual needs can really empower young people. See our Shared Purpose ⬇️

I have some news. I’ve been offline for a really long time now. I’m afraid the reason isn’t a very nice one & too complicated to explain on social media so I have written everything up and put it on a website. Please head to lizzybanks.co.uk to read the full story. 1/4

BREAKING: In a stunning leak, JD Vance is found to be calling for a federal response to stop women from traveling from red states to blue states to receive reproductive healthcare. Retweet so all Americans hear this devastating leak.

I hope all of those who, when warned before the election, about what would unfold should Trump win, and told us all to calm down and carry on, are now sleepless and contrite. It is much much worse than any of us anticipated.

Some context for my new US followers. The AfD is considered sufficiently extreme that parts of the party are under domestic surveillance. Marine Le Pen considers them beyond the pale. Some embassies in Germany refuse all contact. It is no trivial matter for a VP to meet with them

This is not sustainable Wes Streeting. It’s also a gross waste of taxpayers money to be training people in the UK for them to have no job. So much for doubling medical student numbers - our brightest 16-18 year olds know to look at a graph like 👇and look elsewhere

While everyone is distracted, here is how Trump proposed to take half of all the mineral wealth of Ukraine. Before the negotiations with Putin. No country has tried anything on this scale since the Treaty of Versailles - and those reparations were taken from enemies not allies.

John Simpson (@johnsimpsonnews) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Trump’s methods at work: The United States has threatened to cut off Ukraine's access to Starlink satellite internet terminals if Kyiv does not reach a deal with the U.S. regarding critical mineral resources, Reuters reported on Feb. 21.

If leaders are serious about ending war, women need a seat at the table. International data, 1989-2011: When women are involved in agreements, peace is 35% more likely to last 15+ years. Gender balance is especially important when the stakes are high and tempers run hot.

Trump team now making direct contact with Zelensky opponents in Ukraine; Trump warning ordinary Gazans they will be wiped out (or ethnically cleansed); on top of tariffs on countries historically considered allies, claims on friendly territories like 🇨🇦 🇩🇰 and #vileVance whacking

I asked Department of Health and Social Care where the impact assessment for abolishing NHS England was. Recommendation 286 of Francis inquiry said any future reorganisation should have an IA made public as part of announcement. DH accepted. No impact assessment of the change has been done.
