I’m a doctor originally from Afghanistan who is now proudly serving people of all backgrounds in NHS. Despite the fear of violence against my faith & background, I won't be intimated. UK is my home & I will continue to help anyone who needs it. We shouldn't give in to racism.

Wow. It’s 2024 and I’ve just had to crawl along the floor of this LOT Polish airline to get to the toilet during a flight back from Warsaw as ā€œwe don’t have onboard wheelchairs. It’s airline policyā€. If you’re disabled and you can’t walk this is just discriminatory.

Anglican Twitter, we're looking for a new vicar and expect to be heading towards greater inclusion re PLF (see profile for details) cofepathways.org/members/module… #Anglican #churchofengland #dioceseofoxford

Agree. Assuming all churchgoers agree with all their church's positions is clearly abuse of data, but with under 18s this is particularly egregious. Churches and youth groups are not monoliths, and this propaganda strips (particularly young) people of agency in disagreement

Who actually wrote this in the Book of Common Prayer magazine? I think they really must be held to account and an apology published. I am sick of hearing women described as witches in The Church of England and getting away with this.

It is not the church's job to unify the country behind Caesar. It's the church's job to witness to the Kingdom of God, where the merciful are blessed.

Very supportive of Alex’s views in this article, and of his PM’s motion to General Synod requiring the Church to develop a strategic approach to working-class vocations. We need those vocations to be expressed not only in parishes, but at all levels of leadership in the Church.

ā€œOn rare visits to parliament..Farage & Reform are voting against • the employment rights bill • scrapping zero-hours contracts • sick leave & maternity pay And they want to charge for using the NHS They are not the answer for working people in Britainā€ theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

The hardest challenge I’ve faced as a church abuse survivor isn’t the trauma itself—it’s the fear that speaking up will cost me everything. I’ve already faced backlash. I was even warned I’d never get a job if I told the truth. Cathy Newman Bishop of Newcastle šŸ–¤šŸ¤šŸ–¤šŸ¤šŸ™ Anglican Survivors Group

I spoke in House of Lords to say we must reject the false choice between defence and development. They are not competing priorities. properly used, development funding helps prevents conflict, tackles instability, builds a safer more just world. Cutting aid in this way risks

Today, while walking between a meeting & a school visit, a stranger silently stopped me, pointed aggressively at my dog collar, pulled out a dog biscuit from their pocket, threw it down and told me to go and get it. Disturbed. Unsettled. This is micro-aggression.

Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. A time for reflection and repentance, of fasting and forgiveness, as we prepare for Easter. After the outrage towards the Big Iftar in Parliament yesterday, I doubt we’ll see the same opprobrium directed at our service today… šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

On this #InternationalWomensDay, please note #ThisIsWhatAPriestLooksLike. It is time to eradicate gender inequality and misogyny in our institutions. The Church of England, there's a long way to go. Women and the Church, MartineOborne and others, thanks for all you do.
