A couple things that I really like about his delivery: ✅Maintains a stable back foot as he drifts ✅Holds back leg tension as he rides the slope ✅Firm lead leg block & unreal thoracic extension delivers the arm like a whip ✅Deep scap retraction & big pull into ball release

My second start of summer, a complete game win against a really strong team! 7IP, 12Ks, 1BB, 5H, 1ER, 65% strike rate. FB holding steady at 80-81. Secondary stuff felt great and was hitting all my spots. #classof2026 Play at the Cage (Home of the Motor City Hit Dogs) Prep Baseball Uncommitted Prep Baseball Michigan Scouting Coverage Straight Gas ⛽️

A lot of college coaches are cycling back to wanting pitchers that can actually pitch in games, and get hitters out. They're learning that plus velocity with dogshit command, doesn't win games.

Sonny Gray throws one of the firmest, nastiest sweepers relative to his FB velo. His FB is 92-94. The sweeper? 85-87 mph. His key: thumb placement & intent.🔑 "I try to throw it like a cutter...I think of my offspeed as power pitches...I'm never trying to flip it in."
