Looking forward for networking in Boston at Cell Bio 2023, the American Society for Cell Biology and EMBO annual meeting! I'll be presenting work from Meraldi lab at Université de Genève on impact of replication stress on centrosomes. To know more please stop by P1922 on Dec-04, 1:45pm - 3:15pm. #CellBio2023

Check out the new Maresca Lab preprint (with Vikash Verma and Pat Wadsworth). Look at that dynein go! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Wonderful presentation by Alexandre Thomas from Meraldi lab Université de Genève on centrosome age asymmetry at #cellbio2023 American Society for Cell Biology.

Do you know the popular animations of #kinesin walking? Dual-color #MINFLUX shows: it rather either dances Viennese waltz💃 or with 𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥 Chassé steps🕺. Full amazing animation in supplements: t.ly/Z8Kyl. Stefan Hell Labs Max Planck Institute for Medical Research Stefan W. Hell

Our paper "Control of cell proliferation by memories of mitosis" is out Science Magazine. We show that cells can detect and memorize defects in mitosis to eliminate potentially damaged cells. OIST Franz Meitinger Oegema/Desai Labs science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Two and a half days in Split full of exciting discussions about centrosomes, polar chromosomes, and poleward flux at the kick-off meeting of our SNSF-HRZZ Swiss National Science Foundation Croatian Science Foundation project! Thanks to the whole team Meraldi lab Nenad Pavin Iva Tolić for the fantastic atmosphere!

New preprint from Meraldi lab! Our PhD students Elena Doria and Daria Ivanova 💙💛 co-authored a paper where they investigate a connection between microtubule poleward flux, lagging chromosomes and microcephaly 🧠

Excited to share our work Journal of Cell Biology! We find that chromosome size-dependent spindle forces impair mammalian mitotic error correction of long chromosomes. Congrats to graduate student Megan K Chong who led this work! With Miquel miquel rosas salvans Vanna Tran rupress.org/jcb/article/22…

📜🚨Preprint alert! We just released our latest story about the effect of viscosity and crowding on microtubule dynamics in vitro (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…). Very cool collaboration with Claire Edrington, PhD (She/Her) in Gary Brouhard's lab McGill University.

Come to see a poster 119 of our PhD student Daria Ivanova 💙💛 where she will tell you about our brand new preprint 🔥 #EESmicrotubules

New paper in the lab from out postdoc Alexandre Thomas !

Really happy to see my postdoc work published in JCB! Have you ever wondered whether human culture cells really divide symmetrically? Meraldi lab

.Alexandre Thomas & Meraldi lab reveal that centrosome age breaks the symmetry of spindle size through a differential microtubule nucleation capacity. Image shows that centrosome age also breaks spindle symmetry in human fibroblast cells. hubs.la/Q02GQcRz0 #CellDivision

The γTuRC saga goes on! This time, we used cryoEM to describe how CDK5RAP2 helps nucleating microtubules by activating the γTuRC nucleator. Another tour de force led by Marina Serna and Fabian Zimmermann and a fun collab with Jens Luders @LudersLab.bsky.social IRB Barcelona. authors.elsevier.com/c/1jpyq_Yv6zvB…
