An HSJ exclusive: Wes Streeting apologises to families for slow progress on maternity safety action plan - and says he wants "comprehensive and stronger" actions from NHS England. buff.ly/nQs7gDE

Want to improve resident docs' lives? Sort out problems like this - could be working in Slough in two months time, could be in Milton Keynes. So where to live....

And another. If Wes Streeting really wants to address some of the non-pay issues for resident docs, here's where to start: don't let the NHS make it impossible to be a parent and a doctor. (Remember these docs have little control over where they work and the shifts they have)

Mixed feelings. They have just tried to increase my bill by 62% so glad to see them hauled over the coals but suspect it is as ever, the consumers, who will foot the bill.

Currently dealing with a trust where the execs seem not to have warned the press office that a major story lurks in their board papers...leaving the press office unable to answer any questions about it. If I was a director of comms there, I would be hopping mad.

In a sign of the general decline of civilisation and the coming apolcalypse, Leibnitz biscuits have been repackaged and the number of biscuits per pack reduced from nine to eight.

I hope these external reviews will be ones which families can put trust in: not sure that the previous "independent review" - which seemed to be a reanalysis of data by the trust - delivered that.

I get that healthcare IT systems don't make it easy to send info outside the immeidate area but surely there must be a protocol for dealing with this - like sending detailed info by post? judiciary.uk/prevention-of-…

The quality of training for doctors and other staff in the NHS is so good that NHS England has not had to make a single quality assurnace visit this year....or so it would appear from its document store.

This is very illuminating - are some of the maternitry problems in Leeds due to spreading resources between two sites? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Very interesting that the BBC was found not to be acting in "good faith" in this court case. I don't know much about Irish libel law but it sounds as if it was pivotal to Adams winning the case.

This is very misleading. Not sure what target is being referred to but the NICE recommendation and the ones measured in the national hip audit is operation within 36 hrs/on the day following admission not 48hrs.
