My visit to Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy today was excellent. The visit was also an excellent opportunity for our new $13 million VCU-Iowa program project team (including Drs Sarkar and Fisher) focused on treating liver cancer to connect and plan next steps

Celebrating the 2025 Regents Award for Faculty Excellence with the State of Iowa Board of Regents.

We have been awarded a new $1 million grant by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on the topic of "IL-1-based Immunotherapy in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC)". This project led by Prof Andrean Burnett together with Profs Aliasger Salem and George Weiner.

New Oberley Grant Award Funded: “Developing affinity ligands against novel cell surface targets in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) for application in therapeutic nanoparticle delivery”. This project will be led by Dr. John Smestad MD PhD, a HemOnc Fellow in our research group.
