The Covid bivalent vaccine booster works better than expected. I've reviewed the cumulative data erictopol.substack.com/p/the-bivalent… That's in contrast to a NEJM essay today and 2 lab studies that used a pseudovirus assay without assessing the XBB variants

“Stopping epidemics when & where they occur”: see our The Lancet comment on designing equitable systems for access to measures needed to stop pandemics. A repeat of inequitable access experienced during #COVID19 #pandemic is unethical & unacceptable. thelancet.com/journals/lance…

Often in the workshops I facilitate, we have a ground rule of "no HIPPOs" (Highest Paid Person's Opinion counts most). I just found a great graphic for this via Marlies van Dijk (she/her) that I am going to steal with pride.

I love this. Great art @fatherredmcgee. Reminds me of when I did a Halloween party with blood, urine, eyeballs, skulls, fingers.....all in an attempt to stop my daughter and her friends going knocking on stranger's doors

Significant cost benefit of infection resilient environments. Healthy air saves money and lives. It's simple, not easy, BUT needs to be done. Engineers and aerosol scientists need to be part of public health initiatives

Great infographic. For classrooms, students, restaurateurs, workplaces, homes. Clean air is healthy. An important protection against airborne diseases incl COVID, influenza, respiratory viruses #COVIDisAirborne #kidshealthnz

When we are trying to remove particles - whether they are viruses or wildfire smoke - we need to focus on filter effectiveness. That is a function of Filter + Fit + Flow! texairfilters.com/filter-efficie…

Water fluoridation is a very effective evidence-based intervention. Proponents see things from their individual perspective rather than a collective good. If you want non-fluoridated water, then buy it. Let those with less choice, have what they need as matter of human right.

A deeper dive into the relationship between hunger and school performance - hunger means hangry means poor learning, so feeding kids a good square meal seems a great investment in education. phcc.org.nz/briefing/evide…
