Great to be with York CVS - VCSE Sector Support in York trustees this week, coinciding with #TrusteesWeek As well as considering new members, accounts, audit reports and risk register we start to work to try to understand the impact of changes to National Insurance on our charitable work. The dilemma is real.

Unlike some businesses as a charity we can’t pass on costs to ‘a customer’ because they are other charities and some of the most vulnerable and poor members of our community. The majority of our funding (grants) won’t increase to reflect the change to the cost of delivery.

So, without levers to pull to generate extra ££££ we are left trying to work out how we cope. We aren’t the only ones facing this. All charities are. The total cost will be £1.4bn, an impossible amount to ‘suck up’ or pass on to the poorest. x.com/ncvo/status/18…
