We should be angry And ... invite any non OBGYN surgeons into a stat c/s - they are typically and appropriately in awe But... the key to this issue is "proper gyn skillset." 🧵

As a rising 4th year applying into urology on rotation, I had the privilege of speaking to the department Mayo Clinic Urology on any topic. I chose financial toxicity for female patients with urinary incontinence. Some key points from the talk: /1


PREACH Arghavan Salles, MD, PhD! Most Gynecologic surgeons are women, so we’re paid less at baseline. Then, we’re paid less per procedure because our PATIENTS are women. And that’s how the surgeons that women are most likely to get surgery from are the lowest paid surgeons. 🤬
