Found ourselves in South Devon again overnight after a report of a burglary in Salcombe. Vehicle recovered near to Thurlestone beach which then led to a 3 hr search involving the dog and local officers. And just when we thought it wasn’t going to be our night. 2 in custody. 👍

Busy weekend for the team. Both of these incidents in Plymouth show the variety within the role between the medical support we look to offer and the firearms capabilities for the incident in Ham.

Another couple of hundred miles put on the car last night with a trip to Torrington to support our ARV team in North Devon. Whilst others in Plymouth were arresting a subject in Saltash after a report of threats with some garden tools.

So a return trip to North Devon was the order of the evening in order to locate and arrest a wanted male for assault offences in West Midlands Police with one in custody👍

It seems a long time ago when we started our shifts this week in Plymouth with the power tool incident but the week ended with another authorised job in Torquay with a concern for a male with a nail gun.

So when the ARV turns up to a drunk male who won’t move on at closing time and tells him to leave they didn’t mean go to your car then fail to stop for them. After a short pursuit one in custody 🤦‍♂️

Suspect arrested after running from a serious assault proceeds to tell the ARV officers how old and out of shape they are. “We aren’t the one in cuffs!!” Irony not lost

Sunday night shift turned out not to be a day of rest. ARV went to report of a male sat in a car only to be driven at and their car ended up in someone’s front garden when trying to escape. One in custody!

Great teamwork meant that when concurrent jobs in North Devon, St. Austell and Plymouth came in we were able to support all of them. Serious miles covered by some overnight. One crew late off with a drink driver as well 30 miles from their home station.

Yesterday the team made use of the penthrox to support a motorcyclist involved in a collision in South Devon. Great addition to the medic bag.

An abnormally busy Tuesday night shift led to a couple of early armed deployments in Plymouth, one of which resulting in an arrest. Then a couple of RTCs, a pursuit and a deployment to an incident in South Devon to finish the night.

Officers made use of their additional first aid training to offer potentially life saving support this morning to support this incident in Plymouth
