Consider what it might mean to ā€œdecolonizeā€ the school mathematics curriculum from this definition of Eurocentrism. Not just content, but different values, goals, and ways of being mathematical. A different answer to ā€œwhat is mathematics?ā€ #mtbos #mathequity

Normalize thanking your students for asking what they need. Do you know how ingrained it is in them to ignore their own needs & the care they need to give themselves? Encourage them to ask for what they need & when they do, thank them for trusting you with that request.

It's been awesome exploring all the amazing things middle school students can do when you give them opportunities to reason covariationally. Even better when you have great collaborators to do it with! rdcu.be/cFtrl
