Colon cancer screening saves lives!Colonoscopies not only detect colon cancer, but allow us to remove pre-cancerous polyps, decreasing the future risk of colon cancer. Colonoscopies work - but they only work if you get one!

Thanks ACG for the chance to learn the latest clinical research and practice - but also to see my favorite people! Amy Oxentenko MD and I have been taking this picture at #ACG every year since 2014! And of course I had to include the crowns from @ALOliphant!

What a great night to unwind with all my colleagues Weill Cornell Medicine GI & Hepatology! Many thanks to Dr. Bobby Brown (and his lovely wife Sarah) for organizing an excellent Weill Cornell Medicine GI & Hepatology comeback holiday party! And Dr. Schnoll Sussman - the only person who could set up this amazing pic!

Ten years ago - the amazing, inspirational rockstar that is Amy Oxentenko MD was the reason I went to Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Rochester - and she is the reason I’m a gastroenterologist today. Truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She is the ultimate mentor, sponsor, and advocate!

The MOST deserving winner of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Pancreas Distinguished Mentor Award Santhi Swaroop Vege. I have the honor of calling him both a mentor - and a friend. He put me on the track towards medical pancreas diseases and I would not be where I am today without him!

Yes! Thank you Marcia Cross for making “the anus” and HPV-related cancers less taboo at the ACG Emily Couric Lecture. Remember - if you have rectal bleeding or altered bowel movements - don’t just blame a hemorrhoid - see a gastroenterologist for a chat + exam.

So much fun moderating this panel of the biggest stars in pancreatology - they dubbed themselves the “pancreas geeks” - love it!
