I forgot to post the QR code for my most recent Wakelet when I tweeted yesterday. Grateful to ⁦⁦Matthew Burns⁩ & ⁦Lindsay Kemeny⁩ for sharing their research & implementation expertise of such an impactful class-wide intervention, Partner Reading w/Paragraph Shrinking.

Mme Lockhart I created a Wakelet with over 100 resources & tools for effective writing instruction. The Writing Scope & Sequence created by the PaTTAN MTSS & Literacy Team w/ national writing experts is the crown jewel. SDs across the world have used it as a guide. wakelet.com/wake/lS4ZpgicS…

Thank you Pete Bowers ! This is such a valuable word family to be acquainted with. And you're right ... we learn so much about orthography in general by studying a word family like this one!

Rebecca Loveless FionaHamilton Verily! This is a truly rich link. I like to contrast the often confused "very" and "vary" with these matrices to show the spelling-meaning connections. Subtle point: the <i> inside the Latin stem 'vari-' becomes the <y> in the English <very>. Latin stem 'ver-' has no <i>.

Just finished and can recommend. Next round starts today. The course is free, self-paced (even if you don’t sign up exactly today you’ll have time to do it in coming weeks) and a great resource for learning about Dyslexia. coursera.org/learn/dyslexia

So why is the Simple View of Reading simple but simultaneously complex? Well it's simple because it confirmed that both decoding and language comprehension are necessary for reading success. It's complex because acquiring and integrating all the parts is very complex! šŸ‘‡

Interesting! A friend ordered us food to go from chook chicken and was given the option to pay 99Ā¢ for reusable, returnable containers. She got a text from @DeliverZero right away with instruction. More here: deliverzero.com

Doing a session tonight for caregivers with ⁦NYC Public Schools⁩. Showing some games that can be helpful for #math. What are some of your favorite math games?

James Clear Tim Ferriss I couldn't agree with Clear more. As soon as we accept the importance of knowledge, and the necessity of a knowledge-rich curriculum (ollielovell.com/errr/benjensen/), we must accept that the quality of our ideas stems from the quality of the information sources that we consume.

A school in Miami-Dade has banned (for elementary students) Amanda Gorman's poem, The Hill We Climb, which she read at the Inauguration. According to Miami Herald the complaint said it contains "indirect hate messages." Can the school's review committee not read?
