This morning Anne Lepper presented her extraordinary research published in the book, "From 'Euthanasia' To Sobibor: An SS Officer's Photo Collection." Thankful to Canadian Society for Yad Vashem, Yad Vashem & the US Holocaust Museum for honouring victims by helping make this history accessible.


Historian and educator Anne Lepper traces the trajectory of Johann Niemann, a Holocaust perpetrator who began his career in the Aktion T4 euthanasia program before becoming deputy commandant of the Sobibor extermination camp. An estimated 9,000 people were murdered at the Bernburg euthanasia site from 1940-41. Anne Lepper gives a fascinating talk at Canadian Society for Yad Vashem program on how perpetrators saw themselves. This photo shows Nazi perpetrator Johann Niemann in Bernberg in 1941.
