Our comm centre is currently experiencing a high volume of calls due to storm that passed through. Please do not call 9-1-1 unless it is an emergency. First responders & hydro crews will be responding to various areas throughout the city to address down lines, flooding & trees

. Areas of city may be without power (Minnow Lake/New Sudbury) including traffic lights in various locations. Pls treat disabled traffic lights as four way stops. Officers are responding to collisions and other hazards as quickly as possible. Pls be patient & respectful of delays

. The weather remains unsettled. We ask community members to stay off of the roadways if possible. Pls stay off of the waterways as well. Hydro crews and emergency personnel are being dispatched to priority calls & are working as quickly & safely as possible.

We have experienced significant storm damage, and are assessing next steps. Damage is widespread mostly in New Sudbury, and we expect some people will be without power overnight. Please do NOT go near a downed line or tree over a line. Contact is very dangerous...even fatal.
