Alphafold came out in 2020 and a Nobel just 4 years later suggests the power of this discovery and it's implications on research. My lab and so many others in chemistry and biology use AlphaFold all day, everyday.

A #NobelPrize to Alphafold is the perfect opportunity for me to highlight our paper where crystal structure missed a key detail regarding protein structure but Alphafold predicted it spot on.

Also, huge congrats to David Baker whose mind boggling papers I have literally grown up reading. A big win for the computational protein design field.

Our paper on engineering gas tunnels in an oxygen sensor to reprogram cellular hypoxia signaling is finally online in Angew Chem. Its also been highlighted as a "Hot Article" 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I will write a thread soon but for now enjoy the article!

I had such a great time interacting with students and faculty at IIT Kanpur. I grew up only 100 miles away from this institute and thanks to Ritika Gautam Singh, was finally able to visit it.
