I am very sorry to hear of the passing of the great Bethwell Ogot, dean of Kenya's historians. Born in 1929 in Gem Location, Nyanza, late Ogot was admitted to Makerere University in 1950 to study mathematics & history, which had only just been established in the curriculum. 1/
