remains true tht folks simply donโ€™t have the necessary depth or competency of black toronto to begin to engage with drakeโ€™s work or outside critiques of it in a meaningful or substantive way. hardly a subject that reveals the shortcomings of hip hopโ€™s commentariat more than drake

drake's gravest error is thinking any of this was about making hit records. this is about mudslinging, gossip, rumour, spectacle &ย revelation. you will never win with a hit or with raps โ€” the pplย want drama. drake is releasing music, kendrick is satisfying something much deeper.

The situation in Tigray is one I have tried to platform over the years, but it is sadly another one of the tragedies that is invisibilised in our global context. The level of atrocity boggles the mind, and how much do we know about it??? Not enough, I'd wager.
