Conversation with my 4 yr old who’s obsessed with Lego: “You can’t have a Christmas present.” Me: “Why not? Please can I have just one?” 4yr old: “OK, you can have Groot” Me: “Ummm, but you like Groot. You know Mummy likes flowers.” 4yr old: “OK, I’ll get you Lego flowers.”

Today I mark 20 YEARS at the BBC!! It feels like a real achievement! I started BBC South West then took a turn BBC Yorkshire before arriving BBC Midlands where I’ve been for ten years. I’ve also done a stint BBC News (UK) It’s such a privilege to be still on air presenting and reporting!

Thank you so much for all the lovely messages I’ve received and ‘likes’ to my 20 years of working at the Beeb! What a journey it’s been and I thank all the incredible people who’ve helped me along the way! I still have dreams and ambitions - I’ve just got to make them happen!

Conversation with my 4 yr old: “Mummy, there’s a present for you under the tree!” “Ooh, that’s exciting.” “It’s because I love you.” “Ahh, that’s so sweet, thank you.” “It’s Lego flowers.” “Oh. Should it not be a surprise?” “Yeah, but it’s Lego flowers but you can’t open it yet.”

I’m not sure my little boy will sleep tonight! We’ve been awake at 5am and 2am the last two nights, hoping to see Santa!! The fact it’s now one more sleep could tip him over the edge! So here’s to all the others out there facing a long night ahead and a very early rise!! 🤣

In the words of ‘Stick Man’, “Santa’s been!” Just hope my son can stay asleep now. He is beyond excited, which is exactly how it should be when you’re only 4 year’s old!! Hope you’ve all been good so Santa visits you too!! 😆

I finally got my beautiful bunch of Lego flowers!! They are wonderful! A present from my little one and with some 800 pieces, patiently put together by my husband!!
