From escalating conflicts to worsening disasters, millions are being forced to leave their homes. It’s time to tackle the root causes driving global displacement worldwide. IOM is there to support communities in need and to help them rebuild their lives.

In times of conflict, access to basic services such as shelter, healthcare, water and food is essential to saving lives. IOM works with partners to deliver aid to vulnerable communities during times of crisis helping them rebuild and return home when it is safe to do so.

Visiting the site of Jesus’s baptism at the River Jordan is a powerful reminder that His journey -- born in a stable, fleeing his homeland, walking among the marginalized -- calls us to compassion and dignity for all who are displaced today.

The ongoing violence in Goma, #DRC, has displaced hundreds of thousands of people, forcing them to flee. OIM RDC is ready to respond. But increased humanitarian funding is desperately needed to save lives and meet vast needs.
