Hereβs the paper in ππ―π’π¦π΄π΅π©π¦π΄πͺπ’ β¦-publications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/anβ¦

Where do you perform tracheal extubation - theatre or the post-operative care unit? Extubation in the OT is associated with an increase in theatre occupancy of <β8βmin and a lower incidence of postoperative respiratory & cardiovascular complications. #MedTwitter Thomas Godet MD PhD

ππ―π’π¦π΄π΅π©π¦π΄πͺπ’ Thomas Godet MD PhD I would never extubate in PACU. Ever. Always in theatre with my trusted assistant, always. Not sure why you would deviate. Safety, safety, safety every single time. #MedTwitter

Mary-Ann Fox ππ―π’π¦π΄π΅π©π¦π΄πͺπ’ Thomas Godet MD PhD I trained in Ireland and back then we bought all stable, uncomplicated patients to PACU, where the nurses extubated them. I don't ever remember having to reintubate one. It was safe and it was efficient.

ππ―π’π¦π΄π΅π©π¦π΄πͺπ’ Surprised there's no positioning of this evidence in the broader landscape of informedness of analgesia prior to labour. Not to mention how vulnerable interviews must be to temporality. Perhaps something to tackle with thematic trajectory analyses instead. β¦-publications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/anβ¦
