It’s the time of year again when our JS and their staff visit Normandy on Exercise LION’S SPIRIT to learn about the realities of war. This spring has been one of our biggest, with Waterloo Company (all 336 of them!) there now. 🧵 1/5 👇🏼

It's the 110th anniversary of the Battle of Mons tomorrow. As with all history, separating the facts from the mythology, and understanding the difference, is something that should be done if we claim to 'remember' those who were there - combattants and civilians alike.
