What can you do with three days and a few hours in Turkey. I would suggest working on an archaeogenetic ms, and a a forensic application. And also to use the last hours for an ultra trail in Ephesus. #aDNA #archaeogenetics #ephesusultra

There are different extraction and lib methods for aDNA out there. It is good with a little bit of data on them. Dabney extractions remain our choice, BEST libs are not so bad, and WGC has its use: future-science.com/doi/10.2144/bt… #aDNA #cpgSTHLM

An interesting double burial from Czulice with children belonging to a Hun group displayed variation. Both were boys, but one had an altered scull, was equipped with prestigious object and displayed Asian genetic ancestry: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

A clip (in Swedish) about Kronan. Note the different accents. This rhymes well with the genomics indicating the sailors were recruited from all over Sweden: youtube.com/watch?v=DufVo7… #aDNA #Kronan #cpgSTHLM

We don’t think humans caused the extinction on Wrangel. This far north, remains of human activity (fire hearths, flint tools, reworked bones, etc) are very easy to find. No such remains dating to, or prior to, the extinction have been found. More here: reuters.com/science/genome…

We have collected sediment cores from lakes on northern Greenland, and now we need a postdoc to help us with the sedaDNA. If you are interested in sedaDNA, the Arctic, and human-faunal interaction, apply for this postdoc at CPG in Stockholm: su.se/english/about-… #aDNA #CPG

Watch Icebreaker Oden slam into, and even jumping onto, the >4 metre multiyear ice of the Lincoln Sea! 💪💪💪 No ship has ever been here before… Our team from #CpgSthlm is onboard, collecting ancient DNA samples along the N Greenland coast. #GEOEO Expedition SvenskPolarforskning

Umm... The only ship even remotely close to "sailing around" #Greenland is Swedish Icebreaker Oden. Last summer, with US and Danish scientists, we went further north along Greenland's west coast than any ship has done before. So Oden is totally the "right ship" for this 😂
