Rocks under a microscope are art! Geologists cut thin wafers of rock, or thin sections, to study the minerals and microstructures under a microscope. The photos below are looking through a microscope eye piece. #SciCommSeptember

Been making a lot of bread since ACT went into lockdown but I was getting bored making the same recipe so today I made a lemon and blueberry sourdough!

Best part of being a backyardless gardener is still being able to garden in the midst of a storm 🌧 old scientific glassware makes for great planters!

90 from my goal of 52 books for 2021 and so many of them were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Top two were Helen Macdonald’s H is for Hawk and Hanya Yanagihara’s The People in the Trees but many others I’m still thinking about and loved. Hoping I’ll be able to read this much again in 2022 🤞

Today is United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science. In 2022 it’s time to shift the focus from recruitment (which is not the main issue) to retention (which is an ongoing problem). This is the current situation in Australia👇🏻, lack of funding of women the biggest cause.

After missing one conference and delaying my Europe trip by a few days because of getting covid, I’m finally making my way to Prague! Very excited for #ICOMC2022 and spending some time with the global chemistry community
