Checks Out, I midcurve wayy too hard these days

A long exposure panorama style photo taken of the Naples Pier on a peaceful morning during blue hour before sunrise when the weather was cool and calm. The long exposure softened the waves, giving this image a painterly look.

The sun's first light struggled to break through a thick veil of clouds and fog. With multiple layers of clouds diffusing the light, I saw an opportunity for a striking silhouette shot. Instead of my usual wide-angle lens, I opted for a telephoto lens.

While walking through the swamp, I heard a loud pecking sound. As I got closer, I was able to spot this male pileated woodpecker ripping off chunks of bark from an old cypress tree. From the looks of it, he had been working on this tree for some time.

Two black skimmers glide along the water’s edge. The soft light created a nice soft backdrop, and the composition came together as the skimmers’ flight path worked in harmony with the waves and shoreline, tying the scene together.

This massive gator isn’t shy about showing off his power. With jaws wide open in a toothy grin, he rules the swamp like a prehistoric monarch. Alligators often gape not just to look intimidating, but also to help regulate their body temperature.. like their version of a big yawn!

Golden Grass captures the quiet beauty of a dewy morning, where delicate spider webs glisten between blades of tall grass kissed by the first light of dawn. Each thread sparkles with tiny beads of dew, creating a delicate lacework that highlights nature’s intricate craftsmanship.

The sun was just starting to rise above the trees, casting a strong light on the foliage behind this burrowing owl. This also happened to be my first time encountering a burrowing owl perched on a natural object, which was beautiful to see.

How do they do that?!?! Burrowing Owls can rotate their heads about 270 degrees in either direction 👀

Lying on razor-sharp rocks with waves crashing and cold water splashing over me from time to time, I would spend minutes scanning the ocean for turtles surfacing, hoping to catch one in time for a photo.

Everyone has that one odd friend or family member 😆

It's been a while since my last swamp walk... I think it's time for another adventure.

Sometimes the smallest creatures have the biggest attitudes.
