BREAKING: For the first time ever, President Obama reveals that he handed over a detailed playbook on how to deal with pandemics, and Trump ignored it. "400,000 people would've been alive if Donald Trump had just paid attention and tried to follow the plan that we gave him."

Well done again Amazon.co.uk. Tell me it's posted through my letterbox, while a parcel is left by the roadside 100 metres away at the bottom of my drive. Anyone could have picked it up. It could have rained. When you mess up you do a proper job of it.

This is our local pharmacy. We are working to keep it going despite the NHS doing its best to cheat retail pharmacists of income. There is great injustice here with many unintended consequences. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Much of that grey area driven by a single result in about 1978. Other than that one nothing seems to have changed much. I don't believe it.

🚜FARMAGEDDON🌾 The story of what's REALLY going on in farming. A story far more complex than the conventional wisdom. This isn't just (or even mainly) about inheritance tax. It's about a cascade of challenges & crises that may ultimately threaten food security. 📽️5 min primer👇

BMJ bigs up study in a journal, despite a Cochrane SR of RCTs concluding "moderate-certainty evidence that oromucosal nabiximols and THC are ineffective in relieving moderate-to-severe opioidrefractory cancer pain." Standards are slipping. doi 10.1002/14651858.CD014915.pub2.

Paper in a JAMA journal of 1003 young adults demonstrates that cannabis use - short term and lifetime - screws with your brain. And not in a good way. And given wide 95% CI, some folk are really screwed.

Interesting to see another cannabis pharmacy company on turmoil, losing 90% of its share value and most of its board. Reality is a real bitch. thetimes.com/business-money…

Another RCT in post pain showing no analgesic effect of CBD. How much research is needed before people give up, and how is it ethical to do research using a therapy with good evidence of no effect??

Saw this in the Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill museum this afternoon: a collection of speeches published in 1906. Free Trade was a principle - large enough for Churchill to change parties when Jo Chamberlain brought in Empire Preference. Pertinent today.

From The Times this morning - re: Starmer's benefits bill selling in HoC. Chronic pain conditions seem to be those most likely to lose disability benefits. Cruel, when these are the very conditions with largest reduction in quality of life. I am very upset for them.
