This is historically fascinating Andy Jehring in so many ways, not least by 1999 MI6 had a far more enlightened recruitment policy. But we did wonder why MI6 didn’t explain the name (‘Metreweli’). Was it Cornish? No it was Georgian - so ex-USSR, recruited to work here after 1945.
