This on the public health grant is worth noting. The grant is expected to fall by £193m (5.5%) in real terms over the course of this SR. The value decreasing by £846m (20.1%) between 2015/16 and 2924/25. Penny wise pound foolish?

Tackling poor mental health among children is impossible unless we also tackle poverty. We're urging the Government to deliver its manifesto pledge of a child poverty strategy, hand-in-hand with a cross-government mental health plan: centreformentalhealth.org.uk/publications/a… #ADualCrisis

Another 🧵 because there's so much to discuss on this topic. A key finding is that poverty and mental ill-health don't affect all communities equally. Some groups are disproportionately impacted, trapped in a toxic cycle. #ADualCrisis

Distressing yet essential reading from Children & Young People's Mental Health Coalition, Save the Children UK & Centre for Mental Health. We support the call for the government to deliver on its manifesto pledge of a comprehensive & effective child poverty strategy and the introduction of a cross-government mental health plan.

Important research from Tom Pollard NEF showing that benefit conditions aren’t only harmful and ineffective, they’re also not acceptable to the public once people realise how punitive they are. Our research today shows they also undermine families’ & children’s mental health

Many will still be feeling the effects of the past week's racist and Islamophobic violence. While the immediate threat of disorder seems to have lessened, the fear may still be very present. We know that racism can have a 'weathering', eroding effect on our mental health.
