Happy #FluorescenceFriday. This week, we are treated with this stunning video of cranial neural crest cells migrating in a zebrafish embryo by postdoc Jonas Hartmann UCL Research Dept of Cell & Developmental Biology. Also, check out his new paper describing a new concept called Core & Periphery: doi.org/10.1016/j.cels…

So, this afternoon I got home to find a lovely letter from NORTHERN 🚆 telling me about how they wanted to prosecute me for using the below ticket to travel on the specified route at a peak time. I paid £1.90 less than the fare they say I should have paid. A thread 🧵

I only just learned the news that David Stephens has passed away. I'm in shock. David taught me microscopy and cell biology. His teaching has stuck with me ever since and contributed so much to who I am. I told him this when I met him again a few years back. RIP.

"Secreted exosomes induce filopodia formation" is now online at eLife". This work elucidates a major extracellular signal that induces filopodia and downstream cancer invasion and synapse formation. Congratulations to the authors! doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… eLife - the journal
