Happy #FluorescenceFriday. This week, we are treated with this stunning video of cranial neural crest cells migrating in a zebrafish embryo by postdoc Jonas Hartmann UCL Research Dept of Cell & Developmental Biology. Also, check out his new paper describing a new concept called Core & Periphery: doi.org/10.1016/j.cels…

So, this afternoon I got home to find a lovely letter from NORTHERN 🚆 telling me about how they wanted to prosecute me for using the below ticket to travel on the specified route at a peak time. I paid £1.90 less than the fare they say I should have paid. A thread 🧵

This week on #FluorescenceFriday, we're going back to cell biology. The cells on the right-hand side are being stretched vertically, and look at how their microtubules (labeled with CLIP170-GFP) align along the same stretching axis. Left is the control. doi.org/10.1016/j.cdev…

I only just learned the news that David Stephens has passed away. I'm in shock. David taught me microscopy and cell biology. His teaching has stuck with me ever since and contributed so much to who I am. I told him this when I met him again a few years back. RIP.

I've decided to create a Blue Sky account. I just hope this platform will be a stable and safe one for us scientists. Masterdon just wasn't it. Twitter has helped me so much before it turned into a pile of shit. My handle on Blue Skye is the same: AnhHLe2702.bsky.social

We've finally made the move to the other good place BlueSky. Please find us over there at ISDB.bsky.social. We'll continue to operate here but will start putting more effort into running our BlueSky account to slowly make the transition with the scientific community!
