For the 6th time, Anna opened the season at the Teatro alla Scala with Don Carlo. According to the Financial Times, "Netrebko emerged as the star of the show as Elisabeth of Valois, plumbing the expressive depths of her valedictory act-four aria to win incandescent applause.”

On Tuesday, Anna Netrebko brought David McVicar’s production of Adriana Lecouvreur to life in Paris for the first time. “She was extraordinary, sublime, divine…She was absolutely exceptional…I was incomplete ecstasy, she sang so well,” Richard Martet said on Radio France.

After singing Tosca in Verona last Friday, the Financial Times wrote, “It is hard to imagine a more vivid account of Tosca today, the plum-voiced Netrebko drawing in listeners with a meld of dizzying infatuation, burning jealousy and coy supplication in the opening act.”

Anna Netrebko makes her debut in Bucharest on September 1, a country that has produced so many memorable singers. She celebrates the centennial of Puccini’s passing with a programme entirely devoted to his extraordinary operas, including the entire third act of La bohème.
