Today in The Atlantic, I go on the record & say that if one of my kids is doing something you think they shouldn't be, whether invading your space or otherwise misbehaving, you have my permission to just go ahead and tell them that.

Have you had as many children as you wanted? A UN survey has found world fertility rates are falling faster than ever with 1 in 5 people having fewer children than they want. @bbcnuala is joined by demographer Anna Rotkirch to discuss ⬇️

Passed over yesterday by a major broadcaster because I wouldn’t argue on air that not having children is “immoral”. There's nothing wrong with choosing not to be a parent. But we should make it easier for those who want to. That’s what I work on Onward.

Kirjoitin Etelä-Korean syntyvyystilanteesta. Etelä-Koreassa on maailman alhaisin syntyvyys, mikä selittyy osin yhteiskunnan äärimmäisellä kilpailullisuudella. Kilpailullisuus saa perheet hankkimaan vähemmän lapsia, jotta voi panostaa enemmän per lapsi. labore.fi/t&y/etela-kore…

To legislators in New Hampshire, as you consider making your schools phone free: Multiple studies now show that bell-to-bell policies greatly reduces class-time disruptions. Banning phones only during classtime does not help much x.com/JonHaidt/statu…

"The failure to compensate people for the unpaid labor of child-rearing creates a disincentive to have children, and so leads to falling birthrates that harm society as a whole in the long run." nytimes.com/2025/06/20/wor…

Vapaamatkustajaongelma tulee ratkaista jompaa kumpaa muuttamalla.
