On 6th January 1945, aged 44, Edith Frank, Anne's mother, died of sickness & exhaustion in Auschwitz-Birkenau. She'd been separated from her daughters at the end of October when they were transported to Bergen Belsen. Edith was one of 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
