When Constitution provides for a right - such as right to recall MPs - the lack of a (clear) legal framework can never be used as an excuse to frustrate the implementation of the right. In 2024, I wrote why and how Kenyans can recall their MPs even if the Recall law was unclear.

The IEBC spends billions in legal fees on regime-friendly lawyers every year. But when people need it to apply the law correctly to root out impunity and parliamentary sycophancy, it gets even the most basic legal concept (conviniently) wrong! x.com/waikwawanyoike…

The constitution has given too many powers to jokers. Prof Migai Akech can we change this approach of articles requiring implementing laws by bunge & instead put everything in the constitution itself? Better to have an encyclopedia britanica sized constitution than current model

Mohamed Wehliye, MBS The lack of an implementing law is not an obstacle to recalling MPs, as waikwa has articulated. In any case recalling an MP is a political exercise. Hence, just like voters do not need grounds to elect an MP, they do not need grounds to recall one.

Still, "mbio za sakafuni huishia ukingoni." If IEBC and MPs think they can outrun the Constitution, they are in for a rude shock. x.com/KaranjaMatindi…

I had the pleasure of conducting my old good friend, Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on a tour around State House after the joint EAC-SADC meeting on the restoration of peace and stability in the DRC.

If you want to know why IEBC is playing convenient political games in refusing to process recall Petitions against MPs, read this piece by Ndong@Conslaw. To Erastus Ethekon, HSC et al, you may have been politically imposed into office, still your first duty is to the Constitution.

Why can't someone tell these Kenyan politicians that today's match was under FIFA and Kasarani ilikua jurisdiction ya FIFA leo? Wanataka kuingia stadium like it is Labour day. Bure Kabisa!

You don’t become powerful by having more, you become powerful by needing less; when your mind isn’t moved by validation, your time isn’t given to distraction, and your attention isn’t sold to noise, your presence becomes a luxury no one can afford to waste.

Esther was scared, too. But courage isn’t the absence of fear...it’s the refusal to bow to it. For such a time as this - you’re here on purpose.

You cannot lead if you have never obeyed. Do not trust men who have never occupied a position of obeying a higher power. They have not earned the leadership position. And if they haven’t earned it, they WILL abuse it.
