Isabel Jones of CWburnscritcare on burns. Trauma nationally is moving to a new local funding model based on integrated commissioning boards (ICBs), but burn care is too small and specialist for this - it currently operates across four regions in England.

.Karim Brohi on future directions for London Trauma System. It's an integrated supraregional system, but has been inequitable. 2019 data shows excess mortality (by ISS bands) in trauma units compared to MTCs. A 2-year pilot is ongoing for an integrated trauma psychology service #NMTS23

.Zane Perkins on future directions for resuscitative thoracotomy. London's Air Ambulance Charity data 1999-2021 on 691 pts found 99% performed for tamponade or exsanguination. 20% survive to hospital discharge, ranging from 50% if done immediately after arrest to none if arrested >15 mins. #NMTS23
