Today marks National Physicians Day. Now more than ever, physicians' voices matter and they should be trusted to lead. "Thank you to all physicians for your commitment to care, your passion for practice and your ongoing work for a healthier patient, province and country."

If you're wondering why there's been so much insistence lately that COVID-19 was a lab leak, here's why: it is an example for why all biomedical & public health research should be defunded. No evidence supports a lab leak, but it's used to justify a 40% budget cut anyway.

Personal observation: there are MANY MANY (so many!!!) people in Alberta - across political spectrum- who have ZERO interest in separation from Canada and are frankly embarrassed at the notion being raised. Sigh.

I know there’s a lot going on tonight (Go Oilers), but just as the game starts, the UCP will start ramming through two troubling bills and will end all further debate. Among other things, Bill 54 includes undemocratic election reforms and Bill 55 allows for private hospitals.

Going great… Basically, southern Alberta = measles exposure risk. Are they still trying to contact trace? Info here: albertahealthservices.ca/news/Page19022… Make sure you/ yours are up to date on vaccines: 10-20% of cases hospitalized usually. At best It’s nasty.

Marc Nixon Marc, Beef prices are rising because ranchers are downsizing herds thanks to relentless drought, soaring feed costs, and looming U.S. tariffs. This is a supply crisis, not a carbon tax issue. Blaming the federal gov’t isn’t just lazy it’s flat-out wrong. #Cndpoli

Dangerous habits- HCW edition! In healthcare, instant messaging in electronic medical records is not considered timely/adequate communication. It’s like texting and hoping someone sees it versus phoning and having them pick up. if it’s urgent, or if you haven’t heard back, call!
