PM Browne stated that the action of his government gave the nation a head start in recovering the economy & restoring it to the path of growth that is now enjoyed prior to 2020.The result was growth of 8.2 % in 2021; 9.5% in 2022 & spectacular growth of 8.1% in 2023 #Budget2024

Private Sector Projects: (PLH) project in Barbuda. There are 440 persons employed full-time on this development, inclusive of 260 Barbudans. Also, 360 contractors, including 160 Barbudan contractors, are working on this & various spin-off business & projects.   #Budget2024

Royalton Chic is near completion. With 235 rooms a number of suites & overwater bungalows set to open in April 2024. This resort provided hundreds of jobs during the construction phase & 800 of our citizens & residents will soon be employed when full operations begin #Budget2024

Other investments in the tourism sector include Antigua Cruise Port’s repair & renovation work at Heritage Quay which started in September of this year. upgrades to this facility should restore some of the appeal of this longstanding & important component of our tourism product

There are many other private sector projects that will either be continued, completed or start in 2024.  One to note is the $40 million, Sir Joseph John,  Doctors’ Hospital and Medical Centre at the Woods Estate, which is slated for completion in the new year.  #Budget2024
