What synaptic plasticity rules support learning? Check my new preprint to learn more. Work done in the Mark Sheffield using data collected in CA1 and CA3 by Can Dong

Check out our new paper from the lab headed by the newly minted Dr. Ratigan Dr. Heather Ratigan: nature.com/articles/s4146… it investigates the role of a thalamus-CA1 pathway with some direct recordings of thalamic axon activity during fear memory retrieval!

I am looking forward to Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and wanted to take the opportunity to announce multiple available postdoc positions in my new lab in Denver to work on the "synaptic basis of time coding." Feel free to DM me to meet or email your CV and letter of motivation. Poster 523.12/D22.

Interested in synaptic plasticity (STDP, BTSP) and how they support CA1/3 representations during learning? Have a question about our recent preprint? Come check our poster at VV43 tomorrow #SfN2023 Mark Sheffield Can Dong

CosyneMeeting 🤔 really… on a Sunday night? Let’s try to be a bit more modern about perceptions of working on the weekend 🤗- PC, I strongly suggest to push the deadline 24hrs

A comprehensive review on cell assembly detection, must read for anyone looking to relate neuronal population activity to behaviour, memory, etc. I've had the project to integrate many of these methods in one Pynapple package... time to do it! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

At a tiny conference in Italy in 2011, a buzz started going around one afternoon: Bill Catterall had solved a voltage gated sodium channel structure, and he was going to share the structure publicly for the first time. (1/x)

Going with a Euro 2024 theme for my talk next week at FENS. Our symposium (Friday, pm) is on representational drift. I may be having too much fun with this.

Do you want to train mechanistic neural models to perform tasks? Or do you use tools like NEURON to simulate detailed neuron models, and want easy parallelisation, and/or fit to data? Jaxley (lead by Michael Deistler ) has you covered!
